Why is the DaeguChimac Festival held in Daegu?

Daegu is the center of the Korean chicken industry!

한국전쟁 이후 피폐해진 국민들에게 다양한 육류를 제공하기위해 달구벌(구. 대구명칭)에서 계육산업이 시작하게 되었다.
7~80년대부터 치킨관련 브랜드가 생겨나 멕시칸치킨, 멕시카나, 처갓집양념치킨, 스모프치킨 등과 같은 많은 업체가 있었고, 현재 잘 알려진 브랜드로는 교촌치킨, 대구통닭, 땅땅치킨, 별별치킨, 종국이두마리치킨, 치킨파티, 호식이두마리치킨 등이 있다.
The chicken industry began in Dalgubeol (formerly known as Daegu) to provide a variety of meat to the people who were impoverished after the Korean War.
Since the 1970s and 1980s, chicken-related brands have been created, and there have been many companies such as Mexican Chicken, Mexicana, Cheogatjip Seasoned Chicken, Smoky Chicken, etc. Currently well-known brands include Kyochon Chicken, Daegu Whole Chicken, Tangdang Chicken, Byeolbyeol Chicken, Jongguk Idumari Chicken, Chicken Party, and Hosik Idumari Chicken.

 

 

하늘이 내린 최고의 조합, 치킨과 맥주! 매년 여름, 대구에서 치킨과 맥주의 기막힌 조합을 테마로 한 대구치맥페스티벌이 열린다. 치맥페스티벌이라는 말 그대로 축제 기간 동안 맛있는 치킨과 시원한 맥주를 마음껏 즐기며 가수들의 공연을 관람할 수 있다. 유명 치킨프렌차이즈들이 참여하기 때문에 다양한 치킨을 한자리에서 골고루 맛볼 수 있는 절호의 기회이기도 하다. 시원한 얼음물에 발을 담그고 치맥을 즐길 수 있는 공간도 마련되어 있다. 유명 가수들의 축하공연과 DJ들의 신나는 EDM파티가 열리며, 밤 9시 9분에는 모두 함께 건배를 외치는 치맥 99 건배 타임이라는 재미있는 이벤트도 진행된다.

The best combination from heaven, chicken and beer! Every summer, the Daegu Chimaek Festival is held in Daegu with the theme of the amazing combination of chicken and beer. Chimaek Festival literally means, during the festival, you can enjoy delicious chicken and cold beer to your heart's content while watching singers' performances. Since famous chicken franchises participate, it is also a great opportunity to taste a variety of fried chicken in one place. There is also a space where you can soak your feet in cool ice water and enjoy chicken and beer. Celebratory performances by famous singers and exciting EDM parties by DJs are held, and at 9:09 p.m., there is also a fun event called Chimac 99 Cheers Time, where everyone shouts a toast together.
